KORELASI TINGKAT KEBUGARAN JASMANI DENGAN KESEHATAN MENTAL PADA REMAJA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat kebugaran jasmani dan kesehatan mental pada remaja di SMP Negeri 3 Gowa. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada meningkatnya kasus gangguan mental di kalangan remaja, sebagaimana dilaporkan oleh WHO (2021) yang menyebutkan bahwa sekitar satu dari tujuh remaja di dunia mengalami gangguan mental. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional, melibatkan 120 siswa berusia 13 hingga 15 tahun yang dipilih secara purposive. Tingkat kebugaran jasmani diukur menggunakan Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia (TKJI), sementara kesehatan mental diukur melalui kuesioner General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel berdistribusi normal (p > 0,05), serta terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kebugaran jasmani dan kesehatan mental (r = 0,528; p < 0,001). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat kebugaran jasmani siswa, maka semakin baik pula kondisi kesehatan mental mereka. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi program kebugaran jasmani dalam pendidikan sebagai strategi promotif untuk meningkatkan kesehatan mental remaja.
